【教学目标】  

1.掌握下列单词:

2.学会使用下列短语: be located ,be forced to do, have sth./sb. done, one of the most famous,It is said that...,thousands of

学会辨析used to do,used to doing,be used to do

3.让学生通过对万里长城的地理、历史、文化等的了解,培养文化意识;在对长城的宏伟和壮观欣赏的同时,使学生认识到中华民族的伟大,激发学生的爱国热情和民族自豪感。

一、导入Warming up

呈现有关长城主要景点的图片:Jiayuguan Pass,the First Pass under Heaven,the Old Dragon Head

1) Jiayuguan Pass in Gansu Province

It is the west end of the Great Wall.

2) Shanhaiguan Pass

“ The First Pass under Heaven ”

3)“ The Old Dragon Head ”

The east end of the Great Wall.

4) The Great Wall

It was rebuilt during the Ming Dynasty.

向学生简要介绍长城,进入课文教学

The Great Wall is also called the “ Ten – Thousand – li Great Wall ”. It is one of the wonders of the world. It is the longest wall in the world and runs across the north of China like a huge dragon.It has a history of over 2,000 years. In old times, it was very difficult to build such a wall.

二、自学:Fast reading 限时阅读,把握文章大意

Task:要求学生在5分钟之内,快速阅读文章,归纳段落大意。

1)课件展示各段中心句

Para1.the introduction of the Great Wall. 

Para2.The beginning of building the Great Wall.

Para3.How to build the Great Wall.

Para4.The rebuilding of the Great Wall.

Para5.The importance of the Great Wall.

2)引导学生总结归纳段落大意的方法。(段首句和尾句法)

四、展示Learning useful expressions

1.one of+the 形容词的最高级+复数名词      ......之一

3.protect..from / against “保护….以防…..”

eg.  You need warm clothes to protect you  from the cold.

4.the Warring States Period  战国时期

 Building of the Great Wall first began during the Warring States Period.

5.have sth. done “使…被…”

eg.I have my hair cut.

6.数字+量词+形容词” = “数字+量词+in+名词” 表示某物的尺寸。

eg.The box is 4 feet long.                  

The box is 4 feet in length.

7.It is said that …..“据说…..”  

 eg.  It is said that he is good at operating computers.

8.be forced to do sth “被迫做某事”

The little boy was forced to clean the car.

eg.Now he is used to getting up early.
